In November we had the pleasure of beginning revival (for the second time) with Brother Hovie Walker. We had planned a four day revival but the Holy Spirit had other plans and we ended after six days. We truely love this Brother and believe he indeed seek's the kingdom of God first. It is evident in his life that he conform's to a higher power than the world. Hovie does not charge for his appearances; he does not vest himself in fancy apparel and capacious jewelry. My relationship with Hovie, as a brother in Christ and fellow minister of the Gospel, began in Nov. 1991, about three months after Hovie began singing as a solo artist. Since that time I have seen the Lord powerfully use Hovie's talent and testimony. The whole Walker family has talent. In worship, in revival services, in the living room at my home, or witnessing to the lost, Hovie is the same. He listens to the Lord and obey's. On one occasion at the end of a worship service Hovie had lead, I witnessed him obeying the Lord to speak to a young couple whose marriage was failing. No human voice had spoken to Hovie of their problems. God used him to win the young man and saved a marriage. Hovie is not simply an artist with a rich background of professional music, he is a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. After having heard Hovie sing more than a dozen times, never once in my experience did the Holy Spirit fail to use him to touch someone. It has been my privilege to introduce Hovie to seven different United Methodist Congregations of varying size and location's that I have served or am currently serving as pastor. 4) I am reflective about a lot of things that I am thankful for. I thank the Lord that I am wealthy with wonderful friends. 6) Hovie I feel I have known you all your life even though I haven’t. Being a part of God’s family is the most meaningful thing to me on earth and having a brother in Christ like you is one of the things that makes me feel that way!
